When I started playing on-line PC games and later Xbox I needed a screen name so I came up with something like this:

Nero Lance - I was looking for a Porn Star type name (you know like Dirk Digler) but couldn't think of one. I once worked with an guy called Neil Lancefield and I thought damn he has a cool sounding name. But I couldn't use the dude's actual name so I had to modify it. Since I am a history freak I chose the Roman emperor Nero becuase he was weird and burned things. For online gaming this is an especially tough and evil name to have. The "Lance is just a shortened version of Lancefield. So if you take the imagery of Nero (fire) and Lance (a spear like weapon) it conjers up a unified image of a burning spear. Since I like Reggae music very much the name hit on many levels. N is also the first letter of my first name.

Three Nero Lance's exist in real life (that i know of). One is French, one was convicted in a U.S. court for something or other, and one went to Berkely.

I love wolverines, and I live in Syracuse, plain & simple - no superhero delusions...just another furry, horribly misunderstood weasel....except I'm not really misunderstood...or a weasel.

but I do live where it's cold, there's something!

Mine is the same as my aol screen name. It's also the title of a Dictators song that's got a verse in there about wrestling. Since I'm a wrestling manager on the east coast independents, it just seemed to fit.

It started a few years ago when I bought a new car. I was going to get a "vanity" plate and started running through a few. At the time the car turned a lot of heads, so I thought about "Show your TT" = Shoyrtt. My wife forbid any such plate because she thought women would drive by and "Show their TTs"[:p] Little does she know, the windows are so small and the car is so low, it would be hard to see a set of TTs driving down the road.[:p]

<br>Egg-Roger is a stupid name, I'll admit. I chose it as a means of remembering my password.
At the beginning of an epic road trip with my brother and cousin in the mid 80's, we stopped by the legendary IceBerg fast food joint in Salt Lake City. Someone had rearranged the lettering on the wall from Egg Burger to Egg Roger, which somehow caught our fancy. As our journey progressed we bestowed more and more personality to our immaginary associate, Egg Roger. Many hours later and many miles down the road we found ourselves at a pool hall playing "9-Ball Roger", which is 9-ball as played by persons devoid of skill. First player to scratch is 'Roger' and must wear the pool table triangle as a hat while shooting his successive shots with the wrong end of the cue. This proceeds until another scratch either passes the mantle of 'Roger' to another hapless contestant, or promotes Roger to a 'Double Roger', who then must use the triangle to frame his face. (For best effect this game should be played in a crowded, redneck bar.)
Enough of this tedious tale. Suffice it to say that, as a hopeless dork, I don't get invited to many social functions, and that my stupid member name keeps me from forgetting my password.

It was a toss up between "Sugar Walls" and "Get Outta My Dreams, Get Into My Car." But in the end I decided to go with something I like from Pete Shelley.
