To me they tasted the same. Mr. Pibb is a funny name.

Mr. Pibb; it seems a little sweeter, and I just always preferred it. Nice thing is Cinemark Theaters serve it, so i get one every time at the movies, other than that, I occasionally will drink Dr.Pepper.

Dr. Pepper is my artificially-flavored prune soda of choice! Mr Pibb seems like liquid sugar with caramel-coloring ... just too sweet for me.

How about some of the other fake Dr. Peppers like the idiotically-named Dr. Taste, Dr. Rocket, Dr. Thunder and Trader Joe's version Dr. Joe's (natch) Truly vile.

PhillyIdol:
I had never heard of "Mr. Pibb" either, until I went out to Florida or Las Vegas (forget which), where "Mr. Pibb" seemed to be the "DR. Pepper" soda choice at most fountian places, (Coke Sprite, Mr. PIbb), & DR pepper seemed nowhere to be

I'm a Pepper too. Wasn't Mr. Pibb and imitation of Dr. Pepper. Like in music, the original is usually better. Sprite is better than 7UP.

For anyone who listens to Joneseys Jukebox on Indie 103.1 in SoCal, one of the New York Dolls (I think David Johansen) briefly mentioned the Dr. Pibb/Dr. Pepper controversy today before they cut to a commercial break. Anyone else hear this?

Tastes like carbonated prune juice -- I can't stand either one.
