GMail is Google's new e-mail service, invite only. With it you get a great web-based e-mail system and [b]1 gig[/b] of storage. Great for exchanging new wave mp3s.

Yes, gmail is google's new email service (still in beta) It's not available to just anybody. You have to be invited. For a while invites were scarce and hard to come by. There is even a website dedicated to getting invites http://www.gmailswap.com/ E

There are some issues with gmail. Most notably your archived conversations are used to target specific marketing to you. This is circumvented by trashing things you don't want, and/or forwarding stuff you want to keep to another mail account.
