A Dirty Shame

Postby cubby » Tue Sep 28, 2004 12:56 am

Has anyone seen the latest John Waters movie "A Dirty Shame" yet? I saw it this weekend; and it was hilarious. Definitely ranks up there with his best. It is a return to his gross-out, perversion films of the early 70's (i.e, Pink Flamingos, Female Trouble) Tracey Ullman is great as Sylvia Stickles, a repressed housewife who suffers a concussion and turns into an uncontrolable nymphomaniac. Johnny Knoxville, Chris Isaak, Selma Blair, Patty Hearst and Mink Stole round out the cast. With its NC-17 rating, it isn't for everyone. It is filled with practically every sexual fetish known to man. If you are not easily offended, go see it. Once you do, you will never think of the "hokey pokey" in the same way.

Ha-ha! That is true, I'll never think of the "hokey pokey" in the same way!

I was laughing my butt off! But I think the ending was a little weak. I also don't appreciate the pedophilia jokes.

What really impresses me about John Waters movies lately

Female Trouble is definitely my favorite Waters film. Divine stars as Dawn Davenport. She goes nuts on her parents and knocks over the Christmas tree when they don't get her a pair of "cha-cha" heels for Christmas. I think the tree even falls over on h
