80s Fragrances-Colognes and Perfumes You Wore

Postby nowhere girl » Wed Oct 06, 2004 7:59 am

The other day, I was going through a department store, and I smelled some Obsession, and it reminded me of how in the 80s, there were a lot of scents that everyone seemed to be wearing(like Obsession,Polo,Colors de Benetton, etc). What scents bring you back to the 80s? What scents do you remember wearing a lot? I remember buying a bottle of Opium perfume that was a really strong scent, but I thought it was very cool and exotic. I also remember walking into my college class and breathing in all the Polo that every guy seemed to wear at the time. Whenever I smell those scents, it puts me right back in time into the 80s.

i wore "grey flannel" in junior high, which was a little age inappropriate. but it was the last half of a bottle from my uncle. i still love the

I love the scent flashbacks posts! I remember all those scents that you listed. I agree that Obsession smells a little like pee! Its amazing that so many people still wear those 80s scents-but maybe it reminds them of good times(and boyfriends and girl

In Jr. High I wore Elsha - "The Aristocrat of Perfume and Cologne". I thought I was very suave & sophisticated. Anyone else remember that stuff?

Having umpired little league a couple of years in the 80s, after a hot, sweaty 2 hours behind the plate, before going out with my girl, I would dab a little of that special cologne made for umpires called 'Foul Balls'. It sure saved on the water bill not

GOOD ONE!!!! Lets see, being from Brooklyn, you had to have cologne. I wore Piere Cardan(however you spell it). Then later I wore petrule oil and smelled like dirt.
Oh, au savage like bruiser. Great smell.

Hee hee, this is a great question, especially because sense is the smell most linked to memory: "Smells are surer than sights and sounds to make the heartstrings crack."

During my prime New Wave years, I wore KL by Karl Lagerfeld, mostly because th

The only perfume I could handle was "POISON"--VERY 80's---overdone, implying shoulder pads and power suits.

Still don't do perfume, though I found a bottle of knockoff POISON a year or two ago--brought the 80's right back!

Generally, clean hair & cl
