Why the world is doomed - 2

Postby phillyidol » Sun Oct 10, 2004 11:03 am

Ok, today I had it! I took the kids to toys r us and it turned into a nightmare. As we pulled up, I saw a huge 50% off sign so I knew every jerk in the world was there. I was right. Besides one Hassidic kid riding a bike through the rows and running people over, I saw the most stupid guy in the world. These 2 kids kept pushing past me on line just to look at the stuff on the side of the register. Then one see's the gift card display. Well he starts filling his pockets with them. He says look gift cards, they are free. His mom asks what he is doing. (all this is going on like right in my face, mom yelling in one ear, kid in the other)(kid was like 15) Anyway he says these gift cards can have an unlimited amount on them so when he goes to the register, he is going to cash them in for a ton of free stuff. The mother tells him to get more of them. I felt it my duty to explain to the idiot family that you take the card to the register and put money on it and give it as a gift. The mother then tells jr. to put them all back.
Scary, isn't it?

Thus proving my theory --
People are idiots...(and I am their leader). [;)]

What is scary is for generalizations that 'people are stupid'. We all have our low IQ moments, whether we realize it or not, but please, most of us, in fact I'd say probably >99%, would clearly understand the gift card thing and not make that assumption a

True Grunch and I do pepper my stories a bit for effect. But I do need to vent.

So those gift cards are for free stuff from Toys-R-Us?!
WOW!
I gotta get me some of that action! [:D]

Profoundly stupid people that insist on a boisterous display of their own ignorance really bother me too.
How some of these people function in soci

At least you say or do something. I am SO sick of parents who just let their kids scream and scream and throw things in a store without saying anything.

I have had enough of this. All I wanted to do was get some orange juice, and then go wait in the l

Hey Philly, do you think that New York has some of the stupidest, obnoxious people around? Sometimes it scares me. But we do have some of the coolest and nicest people around too. I guess there has to be a happy medium. I hope you didn't go to Toys R

Marie, I made the mistake of going on Saturday. And it was the first shopping day after a long religious holliday. (not for me) So tons of people were there.

Grunch made a good point. The world is not doomed because of these people. And I really don't

So I vow before all, I will not drive on the weekends! I had to do some things today like go to the post office and it turned into a nightmare. Not only was the line a mile long but I parked in the parking lot. Then while pulling out I wait to let someone

To me,the world was doomed when a certain group was trying to incorporate the acceptance and teaching of ebonics into the school system(elementary, middle, and high school). Now,I dont remember if that was universal or just in the state that my family resid

I'm ashamed to say.....Alabama.I've lived in different states but this one is the pits ! And yes, back in the late 90's this really did happen with the ebonics issue.Absolutely embarrassing and a disgrace ! No wonder statistics put us in the top 5..maybe

Even worse as we speak my friend.I also remember another scenario when my second son was born(1998).This is no joke--while at the hospital,a mother decided to name her newborn daughter "Urethra" because she overheard a doctor mentioning that word in a con

You are not alone! They tried it here in NY as well. Funny thing is that everyone speaks this crap slang anyway. Well not everyone, only the idiots that need their own way of insulting authority so nobody understands them. Lets face it, what people would
