Any audio component geeks out there?

Postby devildog » Thu Oct 14, 2004 7:31 am

Just wondering if anyone on this board is into audio equipment like me?

Lately, I have collected several old components from the 80's-cd players, receivers, cassette decks. Does anyone remember these audio companies from the 80s?:

a/d/s
ADC
Akai
Aiwa
BSR
Bang & Olufsen (still around today)
dbx
Magnavox
Kyocera
Vector Research
NEC
Dual (turntables)
Bob Carver
Advent
Even Mitsubishi had audio equipment back then.

I remember my Dad owning some audio equipment by a company called Soundcraftsman. He had a big equalizer by them, I think.

Klaus,
I remember when Infinity introduced those speakers. I read they rivaled the Klipsch horn speakers at that time. I bet they still sound good? I agree, that Marantz components from the 70's were awesome. My uncle still has a Marantz receiver from

Yep,
Back in 1986-7 I hauled that NAD out to an impromptu Queens basement party with the Pyramid mixer, 2 Technics tt's, the DAS-4s and was able to generate club level volume that ROCKED! [:D][:D][:D]

2 horn loaded Cevin Vega 3-ways with 15" woofers
2 18" Cervin Vega Subs
2 20" Cervin Vega Subs
