What kind of toys would you buy your kids?

Postby Quite Life » Tue Oct 19, 2004 2:15 pm

With all this talk about toys when we were little I was thinking "what toys would I get my kids"

1. Books I wan't them to be litterate.

Now the next two are going to sound kind of politically INcorrect sorry but tough S***

2. If I have girls then they are going to get Barbie and EZ Bake Oven so they can get aclamated to thier feminine role. [;)][:)] No way in hell am I going to let them play soccer or softball masculaneize them into soccer dykes. No daughter of mine is going to be a Brandy Chastane or who ever she is. Surger and spice and everything nice right? [;)]

3. If I have boys then they are going to get Baseball gloves and bats, surf and skateboards to skate half-pipe, Army Men, Robot Boxing, Romote Control Race Cars, BB guns or maybe later a .22. All so they can get aclamted to thier masculane role. No son of mine is going to play with "Ken"

Spoken from a guy who once wore eyeliner [;)]

Let the stones begin to fly....ouch[B)]

When Possible (if it it at all possible nowadays), Anything that doesn't have some shameless & crass merchandising tie ins with Viacom, Disney, etc...
PBS & Noggin network related items are Ok IMO

Well I went and bought my son a Nintendo GameCube when he was 3 years old (he's 5 now). I was amazed at how well he plays for his age. He used to beat my regularly at Mortal Combat. He also plays Halo on Xbox with his uncles. He plays about 1-2 hours o

Lego never gets old. I gave my enormous collection of Legos to my son, and we built a castle (Krak de Chevaliers) last year scaled to 3-inch action figures on our ping pong table, and then built trebuchets and catapults and reduced it to rubble. My wife

I call troll.

3 grammatical mistakes in "Books I wan't them to be litterate."
Obvious boy vs. girl cliches.

He knows quite well he'll get everyone riled up a bit.

I'm on to you, bub. [:D]

I agree with quietlife! Hey wait.... I had a Ken! Damn it! The memories still haunt me.

In reality, I have 2 girls. I coach their t- ball team. And my older one takes Karate. I think it's important for a girl to be able to take care of her self.

You are lucky quietlife! We here in NY can't carry. It is crazy that all the crooks have guns and we can't even get them legally. So California lets you carry with a permit?
