Any fans of the new TV show "Lost"?

Love this show! Such great stuff! http://abc.go.com/primetime/lost/index.html

So any ideas on what the deal is with the island? Purgatory?, Hell?, just an island with dehydrated, hallucinating strangers?, A place for everyone to confront their fears?

What's up with Locke and how'd he get use of his legs back? Did Kate really kill someone? What the hell was with that polar bear? And what killed the pilot? And is Jack really seeing his dad, was his dad's body really even on the plane (since the airline didn't seem like they were gonna ship it to LA)? Will they be rescued?

Theories?

Enquiring minds want to know! [:D]

I missed the first couple of episodes but then the S.O. and I were sitting around bored on Saturday night and saw the "encore" presentations of the two most recent. (Saw Ashley's SNL flub too . . . a rare example of my having actually seen a TV pop culture moment). I'm intrigued. A little of the "Twin Peaks" vibe. With "Buffy" and "Angel" gone a girl has to have at least one TV show, right?

I kinda like "Desperate Housewives" too. Yeah, I know, me and twenty-three million others.

Great show. I think they are all dead and not yet accepting it.
Sort of like that Ed Asner movie in the early 70's about a plane and an island--name escapes me though.

Apparently there's some article in TV Guide. Haven't seen it. But I heard on the radio that it points out that right before they encountered the polar bear, you see the boy reading a comic book with a polar bear on the cover. The writers say that everything in the show is a clue to figuring it out. Hmmm...

I actually kind of like it, & have watched it every week, but that being said....
I've already got this shows "number" down cold, & it bothers me a little.
Nothing is ever going to really "happen", & they have a strict "formula" for every episode.
Formula = There will be a "flashback" to a character's pre-crash life, inter-twined with the "island subplot" of the week, every episode.
Unanswered strange questions will go on into infinity, & are introduced in every episode. (What is the "beast", who are Adam & eve, How was he able to walk, What's with the polar bear, Who gave off the radio signal, & how could it be powered for years, where are they, What does Locke "really" "know"...ect).... even if they eventually get around to answer 1 or 2, by season's end there will be dozens more unanswered questions... & I have a feeling they will "answer" the 1 or 2 in a way that raises more questions than it explains. (Perhaps We evenually see them kill a dinosaur, & then know what the "beast" was, but why is it there, where did it come from....)

I think the Island is in some time flux - the past is the present, vice versa, etc. All I can say is - that monster better be a dinosaur, because I'd be one happy guy!

Oh yeah, I'm waiting for a flashback show from the dog's point of view too.
