Happy hollidays everyone of all faiths! I thought of a gift I wish I could send all of you. If you know NY, you know what I'm talkin about. If your not, You should!
If I could send you all a holliday gift, I would start out on Christmas eve. I would go to Bensonhurst Brooklyn. Down 86th street I would go to one of the little Italian bakeries that are all over. The line is out the door but worth the wait. I would pick up some fresh bread, just baked and a bottle of Ameretto. Just the smell brings back great memories. Then I would shoot down to Juniors. I would get their famous cheese cake. New York style only. Thats the thick cream cheese kind. Then I would go to ave. U to Alliottas and get a tray of Italian cookies. They wrap it in holliday paper. Man they have the best. Then I would send it to all of you so you knew what a Brooklyn Christmas smelled and tasted like. Just put on the coffee and invite the friends and you are there. (I think Marie3 already has this stuff)
Any New Yorkers or ex remember this? Marie? Marv? Devildog?

As I am reading this I am tasting the pignoli cookies from the bakery. Those things are freakin yummy! There are no other cheesecakes like Juniors, you have to use string to cut a piece. It is really funny how we stand on lines out the door at the bake
