I like most people i know , a'm a catholic-christian. and in the christian faith the bible teaches that there is only one god, "jesus christ". the bible goes on to say, that we should belive in him and noone else including engraved or false idols.
Most of the people who lost theire lives were either budaists or non-christian. i guess my question is , if they did not belive in jesuse christ, did they all go to hell?? i find that kind of hard to belive. i'm not questoning my faith or the faith of others, but this is realy confusing me.
If this would had happend about 500 to 1000 years ago , people would have had thought that it was an act of god. they would have said that god himself did this because the people were non-belivers.
I realy could use some opinions, feedback , advise and so on. please help. i realy can't get this out of my mind. but in the end we all have to realy wonder, where do we go when we die ?
god bless,
djsoss.
p.s. this is not intended to offend anyone.[:)]

Well, since you asked for an opinion I don't think we "go" anywhere. You die and that's that. No heaven, no hell ... nothing. But that's just my opinion. The bottom line is that nobody knows for sure if there is a god and nobody knows what happens when yo

I'm a Christian as well and those who lost there lives in most of the non-christian don't necesarily beleive in God as we know him but do beleive in a higher being, but think they moved on to a higher plain.
Here's a Buddhism over view:

Like politics, do you really think religion is a good topic for discussion? My thoughts below are mine; I don't discount those beliefs that have been expressed by others.
I'll prefeace my comments by stating that I am a Christian. I do believe the

Wow, good responses from everyone. I believe in God and raise my son to believe as well. But, I don't go to church anymore, I basically just pray. I think if one leads a good life and is good to his fellow man (and woman) and enjoys life and what the worl

DJSoss,
When I was in grade school and was receiving Catholic education after school, I wondered about the same thing: Where do non-catholics go after they die? I received opposing answers from other Catholics-some said that since they did not have a

I find it to be IMHO an act of nature and nothing divine happened here. I think religion is just a hypocritical means of controlling people. Most of the people who tortured and abused me in my former years were highly religious and they were "giving me wh

I went to catholic school through the 6th grade and was taught that there was pergatory, a place where you went when you werent bad enough for hell yet not good enough for heaven. And once you suffered enough you could then go to heaven. When I would get

Okay, I'm a believer in the afterlife, reincarnation and the lot. I also believe in heady concepts like a multidimensional universe, chaos/order, ETs, the astral plane, etheric forces/zero-point energy and all that fringe stuff that people who believe in

On this board, we run the gamut from devout to atheist -- and that makes for some really fascinating discussions. I really enjoy hearing everyone's opinions. We may agree to disagree, but live and let live, I say! One size definitely does not fit all.

Just as you, djsoss, believe your God is THE God, obviously every faith believes d their higher power is the right one.
However, religion has nothing to do with the tsunami. The tsunami was caused by an earthquake which was caused by tectonic shifts
