At least now David Bowie can take his name back. That "Bowie" moniker has been hampering his career for years!

Davy Jones was one of the first celebrities I was ever aware of since I must've been all of 3 years old when I heard the Monkees. All these years later I have every scrap of Monkee music Rhino has ever released, bonus tracks, the "Missing Links" CD's, etc. If anything I've grown to appreciate them more as the years went on. To say I'm sad about this news would be an understatement.

Note the pioneering use of a Moog synthesizer on "Star Collector". IMO The Monkees did psychedelia better than the Beatles (but not quite as good as early Pink Floyd) and they made the greatest rock film of all time, 1968's "Head". Sad to say but maybe now that spectacular dumbfuck by the name of Jann Wenner will rethink putting them in the RnR Hall Of Fame.
