Muddled Lyrics

Postby red x red » Thu Feb 10, 2005 4:15 am

My wife is notorious for not paying attention and messing up lyrics. Its sort of a running joke now.

My favorites are:

1) "One of our Big Marines is Missing" for Thomas Dolby's "Submarine"

2) "Only shooting stars wake up old" for Smashmouth's "All Star."

Anyone have any other favorites?

Boston - Four Letter Feeling
Peter Gabriel - She's so funky, yeah
Kiss - I wanna rock & roll all night and part of every day.

And my personal favorite:

Talking Heads - And she could see an earmuff factory...

When I was younger I thought that the rupert Holmes song " If you like Pina Colladas" was "If you like Bean Enchilladas" probably because I didn't know what a pina collada was.

ha ha.

You know that song by the Primitive Radio Gods called "Standing Outside a Broken Phone Booth..." from a few years ago? How it has that sample of an old Blues lyric singing "I been downhearted, baby" ? For the longest time I thought he was saying

My S.O. always thought there was a pro-Vatican reference in "Rock the Casbah" because of the reference to "Catholic radio blare" (really "cockpit radio").

And I first thought "C'est Impossible" by the Catholic Girls was "Celibacy." And "Mental Hopsc

He's saying "jeux sans frontieres," nothing more exciting than the title in Cheese-eating Surrender-monkeyese.

Manfred Mann's "Blinded by the light"-racked-up like a doucher in the middle of the night?

All the words in that song sound muddled to me.
