Recently in another forum there was thread regarding NWOers' headphones. What about your stereo setup in general-- what do you have? I'll go first:

receiver/tuner: Project/one Mark IIIB
turntable: Technics SL1300 with Ortofon Omega cartridge (recently had to resort to the backup cart when I broke the needle on my Ortofon 2M Blue...)
CD changer: Kenwood CD-204
cassette deck: Technics RS-TR575
speakers: Spendor SP1/2E

Dual CS450 turntable from 1992, with Ortofon OM10
low-end Pioneer dual tray CD player from 1993
low-end Pioneer receiver (Dolby Prologic :) ) from 1995
a pair of original Paradigm Titan bookshelf speakers from 1995 or so
Pioneer dual cassette deck from around 1996, although I messed up the heads for deck one
a pair of Beyerdynamic DT990 headphones, mid-2000s
Pioneer Elite DV-48A DVD player that is SACD capable, circa late 2000s

The most expensive item was the Dual turntable, which was about $330 CAD, I believe. Surprisingly, the cheapest item was the Pioneer Elite DVD player, which I got on a Boxing Week clearout for $50. I think the average of the rest was $200.

My brother in law had an old Marantz :). In the mid 90s, my roommate saw one at a used stereo shop for ~$100. I told him to buy it, but he cheaped out and bought a piece of crap for way less. He was a cheapass.

I still use my sister's Pioneer receiver from the 70s. It has those fake wood vaniers on the side (slightly peeling) 8) .
