So what are your feelings about this? I am torn between both sides. On the one hand, I understand the parent's point of view, which is let us take care of her, maybe there is a cure down the road, and she's our daughter and we don't want her to die. On the other hand, I also agree with the husband that she is basically a vegetable with zero chance of recovery (court-appointed doctors have also confirmed this), and that the way she is living now is not exactly the best of life-styles. If I had to make a choice, I would come down on the side of the husband. I also think congress and the Bush family has zero authority on this and they need to stay the hell out of it. Thoughts?

I would be begging to die. Imagine if that is the case. It is a real tough call but if she is brain dead then I say pull it, its just cruel at that point. You can keep a brain dead body going for years, why?

I'm torn. There was a girl a few months ago who came out of a similar catatonic state after 20 years. I heard Terry's husband turned down a million dollars to let her live. So who knows the real reason. I just hope that the husband is right and that this

oh please!
The poor woman is so severely brain-damaged that the "life" she is living could hardly qualify as "life". I don't think the husband would just make up his claim that she would NOT have wanted to "live" like this...if he were just making that u

I just hope the Supreme Court leaves her alone. I hope soon she will finally find some peace.

Not sure where I sit on this one, but we should get our facts straight. She's not brain dead. She needs no machines to keep her heart, lungs, and other organs working. She reacts to and even interacts with family and hospital personnel. She needs feeding

Here's the thing. Big govt.: "get the hell out of people's personal biz." Just like I hate gun laws, strict regulations, and more bureaucracy, I intensely dislike it when the fuckers wanna legislate people's free will. It doesn't matter whether I agree or

I think he is being a good husband. He is doing everything within his power to see that her wishes are being carried out.

For example (and a much lesser one), should (G-d forbid) my husband pass, he has made it very clear to me he does not wish to be

I absolutely DISAGREE with most of the posters on this one for several reasons - It has never been confirmed that Terry Schiavo actually stated at any point that she would wish to die in this situation. Also, her "husband" was a husband of only three year

I just can't get over the fact that they would starve a person to death. A criminal would get better treatment then that. She is not on life support for gods sake.

Wait a minute, she is not simply "disabled"...like she is aware of her surroundings and is just unable to walk...I call bullsh*t. All she has in her skull is a brain stem, the rest is just fluid. This means that she can breathe and her heart beats. She ca

I do not think that Tom Delay or Bush have any right to get involved in this, my feelings aside. The state government has ruled on this case and that should be it. I am sick of these politicians passing quick laws to benefit what is "in" at the time. I

I'm with Marie on this one (hi Marie). The president should not even have a say on this.
