New BSP in Jan 2007

Postby cubby » Wed Oct 18, 2006 10:08 am

This is for Blir, my BSP bro, and others who have an interest. According to MOJO magazine, the new British Sea Power disc is titled "Die, But Do It." It refers to the motto of the Russian Submarine Service. The disc is due to hit stores in Jan 2007. According to guitarist(and excellent crowd surfer I may add) Noble, "this album should encompass all rock-one song is exactly midway between the Who and Galaxy 500". Something to definitely look forward to in the new year!!!

How the F did I miss this Cubby?! This is definitely true. They have been previewing their new cuts all through this summer and fall to warm reception in the English North. They will then begin recording in Montreal with the great producer Howard Bilerman there after their Nov 13th one-nite-only warmup concert at La Sala Rossa.

In fact Cubby, if you can make it to the NYC area by early morning of the 13th, you are invited to join at least two of us on an EPIC ROAD TRIP to the great north to see these guys that night. In fact, come in the previous night to see The Plimsouls in Hoboken and make it a 2-fer with BSP! [:p]

I do love their wryness, here discussing poet John Betjeman's "In the Licorice Fields of Pontefract" and his fondness for large, powerful women...
