RECENT BANDS (NEW WAVE if they existed in the 80s)

Postby DSR » Mon Aug 28, 2006 12:21 pm

Among the recent bands that have emerged worldwide in the music scene, who amongst them do you think could have been NEW WAVE if they've existed in the 80s?
Here is my list:[;)]
THE KILLERS
BELLE AND SEBASTIAN
KEANE
INTERPOL
FRANZ FERDINAND
THE FRAY
THE RAKES
BLOC PARTY

All of the bands mentioned would have been considered new wave; lest we forget what was mainstream back then... REO Speedwagon, Van Halen, Hall and Oates. The kids at my bus stop would play AC/DC on their little boomboxes and I would just cringe. I am still amazed at the lack of diversity in musical taste today, maybe even less diverse in some ways than the 80's.
