I caught them on some talk show last night and I liked what I heard. Who can tell me about them?

Their cd "Gotham" is very Gang of Fourish and their next release " Stealing of A Nation" follows a similar path but has more synths, more of a new order feel to it.I was wondering what their new cd "Enemies like this" sounded like . See post on 9/14.

Detested them in concert. Overly proud of themselves as if they'd invented funk punk instead of merely channeled GOF. But that's just me...

I've picked up a few of their 12" singles on vinyl becuase I saw them in the $2 range - can't speak for their full albums. I liked what I heard also, though I can imagine them being pretentious! They're certainly in line with alot of other like-minded bands in the last few years.

I'm listening to the new album Enemies Like This and while it's a satifying nod to Gang of Four & The Clash, it also comes off as a slightly barren landscape, lacking many solid hooks. I thought "Absolute Affirmation" from their previous Stealing of a Nation was catchy, but it seems like these guys are doing the post-punk-by-numbers thing a bit too much.
