Discussions about the new generations of bands influenced by '80s New Wave and Postpunk

Nu Goth

Postby djcraig » Tue Jan 10, 2012 3:24 am

I am putting together a playlist of "Nu Goth" music. So far I have songs from Ladytron, The Horrors, This Gentle Horror, Cold Showers A Place to Bury Strangers and White Lies.

I need more. What am I missing?

Thanks for the input. I have also added Austra, The Raveonettes and Crocodiles.

Yay, Soft Moon.

John Maus (either as songs or sublime link tracks). Cold Cave (so obvious it hurts, but that's its appeal). Blouse (the first side, before the songwriting falls apart).

And then let us (me) know what you built, please, so we (I) can steal it.

Tearwave are no longer, Makara's Pen is the new band.

To add a slightly different flavor to the CD, I recommend The Lost Patrol (http://www.facebook.com/thelostpatrol and The Blueflowers, both bands have been sort of coined part of this folk noir movement, but def. mesh nicely with Nu Goth. "Folk" applies moreso to The Blueflowers, a la Tarnation.

How about QNTAL? Bruno Kramm for example did an excellent remix for Am Morgen Fruo
