Great list! I own a good portion of the music listed. I'm tickled that Radiohead holds 3 of the top 10 spots (although I'm not a big fan of "Kid A")

Yeah its a great list (and forum) all in all even if it's a little too indie here and there. I've got 3 people from there who loved OUR NWO Top 500 Song list and will be visiting us shortly. [:I]

Love our foreign exchange student program. [:D]

You said it Swamp. Likewise about Kid A - I coulda picked 10 other songs first. Definately a common thread in this music - I wonder what's the neuro-electro-chemical basis for some people liking these types of songs over, say, Billy Joel or Corey Hart. A "taste" gene perhaps? [^]

<br>Great list! I own a good portion of the music listed. I'm tickled that Radiohead holds 3 of the top 10 spots (although I'm not a big fan of "Kid A")

I agree with the elements your post except that its an ALBUMS list not a SONG list. [:o)] [:D]

Heh, I knew it was an albums list but then got into song mode on mention of Kid A. Can you blame me, it's a veritable posting orgy this Friday night!

I've at least heard a good number of those albums, but my tastes generally lean much more to the pop side than the indie rock side. I, for example, love The Bends much much more than later Radiohead.

I was thinking with the success of the top 500 new wave songs list, perhaps a simiar one should be done for full albums.

Great list....but why would you have anything on there by Jay-Z?

Jay-Z as in the rapper?
What the heck?

Other than that....over 70 percent of that list is abosolutely WONDERFUL!!!
(should have said that before)

Damn. [:0] All of those albums are in my husband's collection with the exception of "Devendra Banhart / Rejoicing in the Hands."

c'mon..there's nothing wrong with having jay z in that list. there's was alot of great hip hop that came out in the 80s and has a great influence on alot of indie bands these days. just check some of THEIR playlists. i think you would find alot of hip hop on their personal lists.... (and jay z's the black album kicked ass!!! so does 50 cents first cd. personally i get more response when i spin hip hop at an indie night than i do playing dance nd rock!!!!
