EndFest concert

I'm not a huge concert-goer, but I, my friend Liz, and the S.O. went to EndFest yesterday. (Was a little worried about the S.O.--he had only three CDs when I met him. But at least the CDs were the Magic Flute, the Clash, and Tom Waits.)
Last year the theme was "Flashback to the Future" and it mixed 80s band with Next Wave on a revolving stage, so there was minimal lag between sets; there was also a local bands stage. This year there were three stages, main, local, and "what's next." Unfortunately the staggering of the sets was badly done (delays, no revolving stage), and there was no place to sit at the "what's next" stage (my S.O. dislikes prolonged standing), so it was near to impossible to run back and forth. This means that we didn't get to see the Bravery or the Kaiser Chiefs or Tegan and Sarah. Also, there were numerous problems with the sound system on the main stage.
So, let me just begin by saying I love to watch rock bands who wear skinny suits and ties. That formula has worked since the Kinks! All band hotness is measured in Franz Ferdinand Fractions. [:p]
Caesars: On the small stage, did a great job for broad daylight. Everything I caught was from "Paper Tigers." FFF: 0.3 Reduction for dumb hair.
Hot Hot Heat: Semi-local favorite, since they're from B.C. Steve did his best to get the crowd dancing and commented that we didn'se seem like a 4:00 crowd . . . he had to explain he meant this as a compliment. Most stuff was from "Elevantor." Sound was really bad--where were the engineers? FFF: 0.4. Other band guys were hotties but again, substantial penalties for singer's dumb hair.
MXPX: Local favorites from Bremerton and surprise hit of show, esp. with my S.O. Explained that they would not be covering Social D's "Sick Boys" with SD actually THERE. "Punk Rawk Show" was the best. FFF 0.3 (no skinny suits).
Social Distortion: Got up and played their hearts out. I guess I always knew about the country/rockabilly influence ("Ring of Fire") but for some reason they really sounded like an aging country band last night, in a good way. Did all the classics. Was hoping they'd play the "Death or Glory" cover but nope.
Interpol: Paul was in good voice. Set was very restrained and subdued, not necessarily in a bad way. In person, Paul resembles a more sensitive Russell Crowe; Daniel is more of a Ralph Fiennes type. The S.O. compared Carlos to George McFly. Crowd got most excited for "Evil" and "Slow Hands." FFF: 0.5 (Good-looking guys but I was not compelled to suppress any-panty throwing urges).
