I don't know if Ollie Stench has been too modest to mention this band that he plays in (I can't imagine.. but the search function had a "fatal error"..) but this local band brings you the new wave in a big way.
They have a single, everyone should buy it.
To toot my own horn, my band Kontrol Panel is currently recording. We're perhaps on the Gothier side of New-Waveness, from what I'm told.
