Discussions about the new generations of bands influenced by '80s New Wave and Postpunk

hello there

nice to see i've stumbled upon some people who seem to have similar tastes as me. i'm thor from The Bling Grenades. i figured for my first post i'd whore out my band.

influences are, um, devo, magazine, killing joke, tones on tail, joy division, can, gang of four, and a lot of other bands.

also, i love all the early ministry material, no matter how cheesetastic it might get. jourgenson was onto something with some of the early material and, in many ways, it's a shame he decided to go the Big Black route.

Welcome. I'd love to hear more but can't find any good song links. Your Requiem has an air of Joy Division's Incubation to it...cool.

Oops, nevermind, found the additional raw recordings. Pretty harsh stuff for the Ozarks! [:D]

we've got two (really) rough mixes of a couple tracks from our "studio" demo up now. the whole demo should be done by next week, but this is to give everyone a taste. please god tell us how the killing joke cover comes off, and whether the vocals are too soft.

anyway, so the whole rough mixed demo is up now. probably a little too punk to be considered "next wave", but definitely too new wave to be considered punk (at least according to the punks i've been talking to)
