Hey, who else listens to these guys?Polysics' influences are not hard to find, with guitarist/vocalist Hayashi himself saying that he originally started the band due to his love of Devo. With such strong new-wave roots, it'd be easy to dismiss Polysics as yet another of the New-wave revival bands in the vein of The Faint, but Polysics set themselves apart with their frenetic performance and downright wackiness. In fact, this wackiness, the sort of over the top, so-uncool-it's-cool appeal, is exactly what Polysics is going for. Punk-rock style guitar, bass and drum parts are punctuated with hysterical screaming and synthesizer parts reminiscent of the 8-bit soundtrack found on the original game-boy.C'mon with an album called"Newwave jacket" and do a cover of devo's "jerkin back and forth" you gotta check them out
