Sigur Rós

Just picked up the album "Takk" by Icelandic band Sigur Rós and think it's brilliant! Very hypnotic and ambient. Anyone else heard these guys? It's been so long since I've really gotten into a new band, and am definitely into this album!

They're great, although pronouncing the album and song titles can be a bitch. If you ever get the chance to dl any of their videos, jump on it. VERY trippy.

You also may want to check out Mogwai if you haven't already.

I really wanted to like Sigur Ros, but they don't get it for me. Some of the music is absolutley wonderful but the vocals grate on me for some reason. Which is why I suppose I like Mogwai far more, at least to a point.

I've been listening to their album "Agaetis Byrjun". It is not particular the music I listen to but I sometimes enjoy it. "Staraflur" is my favourite track from the album. I like the s.o.s. signals in this song ...---...

I totally love Sigur Ros. Very arty band. And I hear their live shows are just so original. I simply cannot wait to see them.

I am a Sigur Ros fan and I had the opportunity to see them live last year at Paleo Festival in Nyon, Switzerland. I was blown away by their gig. Really a great band to see live and to enjoy on cds !!! Don't miss them if you enjoy their music.
