Bjork

Discussions about the new generations of bands influenced by '80s New Wave and Postpunk

Bjork

Any New Wave Fans out there that are also big fans of Bjork? I really like all of her work, both with the Sugarcubes in the 80's and her solo releases in the 90's and now. It seems that no matter how experimental and ethereal her music becomes, the more I like it. Her most recent release was especially interesting and compelling as it was created using only voice, and sounds and beatbox made by the human vocal cords (No instruments, except for a few piano chords in one track). Wild stuff!

Some people hate her and her music, thats fine. But you just can't deny her talent that she has. Love her or hate her, you can't knock her hustle, and how long she has been around. The majority of bands have broken up, musicians have died, and some have faded away with time. Got to give her the kudos she deserves.

Her website is quite comprehensive, with an excellent dicography and album art (nice quality too) for all the cds and singles she has ever produced.
