Johnny and the Self Abusers became Simple Minds. Their release as "Johnny" was Saints and Sinners.

Stiff Kittens was one of the early names of Joy Division, if I'm not mistaken (there's a goth band from the U.K. with the same name)

Fallout Club spawned both Thomas Dolby and Trevor Herion.

Organisation became Kraftwerk in the early 70's, when they were Ralf Hütter and Florian Schneider with some temporary collaborators.

That leaves 5 with the last two being the toughest.

The Lepers
Mass
The Reaction
Acme Soundtracks
The Primitives (not the 80's band)

Good job Brambo on "No Romance In China" and BigBri for the
squiggle ~. Yes, Stiff Kittens became Warsaw who became Joy Division.

Wow! That is some cool trivia; I love that sort of thing. And stuff I didn't even know, except for the Q-Tips.

Anyone know where to find any of this material?

I mean is it hard to find?

I have all Art Nouveaux's stuff...and I have that one album by The Graduate..

or better yet...does anyone know where to find "Puppies" Dane Convovers first project?

I think this hits all but one -
Velvet Underground was once called The Primitives (but that name is so common you may mean someone else)
Talk Talk was the Reaction
Modern English was the Lepers
Wall of Voodoo was Acme Soundtracks.

No clue about the last one.

Mathman got The Primitives and Acme Soundtracks. I think two of the tougher (toughest?) ones. Good show! Jason²did get Mass though they did do a short stint as Rema Rema before becoming Wolfgang Press.

Anybody got any other pre-bands I forgot to mention?
