Discuss hard-to-find or out-of-print New Wave and '80s Alternative, and share a few songs along the way.
NOTE: requesting songs that are entirely unrelated to the genres discussed here or easily found on CD is strongly discouraged and posts will be enforced as needed.

I think there's a lot of sharing here because some of us (like me) still can't get onto The Hub.

I think all this share of music is great.
I think i'll share a song in honor of it.

Aquarium - Pepel

This is a Russian song from 82.
I thought it was really great
unfortuanly this is the only song by this band that sounds like this.
All the other songs are folk songs with acoustic guitars.

i am on soulseek also.
my handle is Luckyducky91

i have only joined soul seek recently.
is they any rooms you recomend?

I wonder how many lurkers there are that just leech the files. I hate it when people leech and don't say anything, not even a "Thank You".

[/quote]Yeah, I know what you mean.
There's always gonna be that contingent out there.[V]
That's why I like yousendit, after a week or a certain amount of DL's the link expires.[8]

The very simple fact is that because of this site and the people who frequent it I now have songs I haven't heard in 20 years and had no hope of ever finding.

It was liking finding my youth stashed away in a box somewhere.

I can never repay what I was given.

LOL, ditto! Pretty exhausting sometimes but I just can't stop. [:D] I download almost everything except for the remixes. Thanks everyone! [:I]

LOL, that's how I felt when I first got broadband and was using Napster. It was work trying to think of new titles to search + queue up since the files were getting downloaded so much faster than dialup [:D].

BTW, I have some suggestions for dudes who post files to share. Please comment ...

1) Support the sites like yousendit.com by clicking on the sponsors' links. It's the least we can do for their help in distributing cool music [:)].

2) Please state if the rip is from vinyl or CD, and also the bitrate. Maybe someone has a better rip (eg CD instead of vinyl) that they want to share.

3) If you want to up a complete album in one shot, use ZIP archives as opposed to RAR as ZIPs are probably "friendlier" for everyone. I don't use MAC or Linux so hopefully someone can comment on this.

Let me add to thine list

4. Run over the record with a "magic brush"(?) before doing said vinyl rip

5. Run over the needle too beforehand

6. Fill dem ID3V2 tags out. You would know the copyright dates, etc better than we would

The first thing I do when I download any mp3s here is fill out the tags with the best of my ability. Artist & track minimum.
