Thomas Dolby - Radio Silence

Postby Freshy » Thu Jul 19, 2018 7:38 pm

After reading all these posts about different versions on album, etc.. Reminded me of my Thomas Dolby - The Golden Age of Wireless cassette i owned in the early 80's. My favorite song was Radio Silence for sure. Later I replaced the cassette for a CD version and was horrified to hear the synth version that was on there. I searched for years and even ripped my cassette to CD so i could enjoy the version I was familiar with. They never released the 4:33 version that was on the album/cassette though they put out a deluxe version that included a longer version (4:52) with an some extended guitar noise..

Anyone in the US who had the original vinyl or cassette may enjoy hearing this one. This is the longer version https://mega.nz/#!WnRk3a5Z!8TrPni9oXYgBR3WEhqJofszTuymIyTfyDBhjdHp8Zks

Anyone have any similar experiences.. I know that most of the Depeche Mode CD's had different tracks in the US than the UK as well as Yaz/Yazoo.

That whole album is fantastic. The Flat Earth is excellent too. Love those expanded remasters

Isn't it funny how you bump into the strangest things while you're searching for something else. I was searching for some old 70's pub rock boots and passed a set of original TD vinyl rips. The internet never fails to surprise.
apf? southern boy? borntorun99? yazoost? Fucking joke? Definitely.

I’m confused. All sites say Guitar Version is the same as Version so what’s on the remaster?

The original cassette/vinyl had the guitar version that is 4:33. The remaster has the same track with a slight extended at 4:52. They are the same track otherwise.
