The Hoovers were robbed I tell ya - robbed!!
Posted: Sat Jan 17, 2004 12:12 amI found a vinyl copy of the Hoovers 'Skin and Blisters'(1980) after finding it listed on this site's 'Obscure 80's Series'.
There's a ska/reggae version of Sonny and Cher's 'I Got You Babe' on it. This HAD to be where UB40 got there idea to cover it....and eventually go top 40 with it!
By the way, I've been a new wave fan since the beginning and that list has introduced me to a lot of groups I'd never heard of...it's really been a blast finding some of that stuff in the used vinyl bins.
