NJ '80s local music/new wave

Postby centralstn » Sun Feb 22, 2004 4:01 am

Well, I can tell I've stumbled across a community of kindred spirits. I've spent much of the weekend looking over this site and reading the message board - and now I'm ready to weigh in with my own trading question.

I grew up in central New Jersey, started listening to college radio in 1981, and did a radio show on WRSU from 1985 to 1992. During that time, I collected a bunch of local releases (the type of things that WRSU's Overnight Sensations would play). Unfortunately, while I have kept many of these releases, I have sold or otherwise disposed of even more. Recently - perhaps due to an early midlife crisis - I've wanted to hear some of those long-lost releases again.

So I'm wondering if anyone here traveled in those circles and could help me complete my collection. I would be happy to do trades. Email me and I'll tell you what I have and what I'm looking for. (If anyone could hook me up with dubs of xex, Lord John, Rockin' Bricks, Nullset or Zoo Musick, I'd be especially grateful!)

Thanks,
Mike

Talk to me. I have a ton of NB-area stuff. I DJed at the Melody from 1993-2001, and hung out a long time before that.
