Thanks so much, fiftypercent! Only one problem, though: the files sound like they were played at 45 rpm instead of 33 1/3 rpm because the lead singer's voice sounds super high.

Thanks - I'll fix it tonight. It's a pain when record labels/sleeves don't tell you the correct RPM and I did not get time to listen to them last night.

Firstly, what a great thread this has been. Being a Brit I've never paid too much attention to which bands came form where or any particular regional 'scene' but a few recent purchases have given me a lot of interest in New England bands generally. I recently posted a Future City single not really being aware that Alex Space had been mentioned in this thread before.

What triggered my interest was a band called The Faction which hailed from Norwalk, CT and may have been a studio only operation, with one sole release under that name. Here's a sample from the album, released in 1985 and called 2x2.

"you can take it from me", I love this band!!

Hey fifty, if you have that The Faction album, I'd like to hear the whole record if possible. :)

Also, does anyone remember a female-fronted new wave synth act out of Boston called Block Yard? As far as I know, they released a 1984 single and a 1985 LP, both of which I'm interested in hearing.

I have a few requests for albums and singles from New England bands, if anyone is able to share:

The Faction - 2x2 (1985)
Picture This - S/T EP (1986)
The Drive - She Was a Stranger b/w Doin' the Countdown (1984), The Journey is the Reward (1987)
Block Yard - Don't Wanna Lose You Now b/w Talk to Me (1984), S/T LP (1985)
Boys - Drop Me a Line (1985)
Ata-Tat - S/T EP (1986)

Thank you in advance!

In case you're interested, I've recently completed a Zodio Doze anthology CD of ~18 tunes from a combination of my master tapes, studio rough mixes, and WERS radio show. A couple flexies may also be available, including a photo proof.

Is it available yet? Me want. Only ever heard the one song, and my single is trashed. Cardboard piece of crap! Although I can't imagine any of them ever sounded good...

Could someone please repost the corrected speed Down Avenue EP? I missed it, and just discovered the wonderful Winter's Past song, thanks to Rissan's great Winter compilation. Thanks and happy new year!
