In honor of Baseball season about to start, here's a single by The Silencers--a local band from 1980. This was on Spirit Records out of Cambridge Mass.

Heres a fun tune from The Trademarks in 1981--off of one of the BCN comp lp's. They were a 5 man band out of North Boston I believe. I seem to remember a song Up To You, or something like that..memory going.

This one is She Only Does It With Me.

If you were a Johnny Thunders fan in the early 80's in Providence, you definetly saw this band. Blue Ruin opened for Johnny at numerous shows. They were Greg Allen on guitar and lead vocals, Pete Trainor on guitar and vocals, Paul Tagney on bass and Steve DeSisto on drums. I worked with Pete for a while in an unnamed retail joint. After one show Johnny Thunders gave Greg his jacket as a gift--flip it inside out and the arms were all caked with dried blood. [xx(] Greg later left the band for England and Pete took over lead vocals.
They had an awesome tune She Can't Dance but I don't know if there is any copy of it anywhere--I don't think it was ever released.

Last of the night--I finally came across The Young Adults. This was the band of Rudy Cheeks and Sport Fisher. Complex World was quite the cult hit back in it's day around here.

2 live tunes from If Then ( Go To ) with Marlaina Stringfield on vocals. Scott Hein, Manuel Silva and E. Javo Peake made up the rest of the band. Think I may have posted one of these before.
