Hey Omar,

The UK 7" mix appears on a Time-Life compilation called Another Lost Decade: 80s Second British Invasion.

http://www.amazon.com/Another-Lost-Deca ... pd_sim_m_3

Unfortunately, this must have been a shoddy vinyl rip, because the sound is flattened like nothing I've ever heard on CD before. Like it's in mono, not stereo.

DJ Paul T, an awesome blogger and painstakingly loving curator of 80's pop music, recently posted the UK 12" on his site. The 7" is also included on the vinyl. And, all tracks sound fantastic.

Bonus: he offers all his tracks in MP3 and FLAC.

Hope this helps.

Hi Omar!

I checked my collection and I do have the German CD import album that features a 7" version of "How To Be A Millionaire". I checked on discogs and it has the exact same running time as the US 7" vinyl:

I ripped it at 320K, I hope this is what you were looking for: http://www.mediafire.com/?4x8o786266h8x4o

Cheers

I think the US 7" is the same as the album version. But the UK 7" doesn't have the Pound/Dollar/Millionaire intro. Am i right ?

You're welcome Omar!

Yup, I just compared the UK vinyl 7" to my US 7" and it seems the only difference is the 5 second intro saying "Pound/Dollar/Millionaire".

Cheers! [8D]

Hi
The UK 7" is very different to the US 7"/Album version. It has none of the spoken samples ("pound", "money" etc.), has a screechy synth inst break instead of the guitar break of the later version, and features Eden (or Fiona, as she was then) doing some “Who wants to be..” backing vocals.

Thanks for the heads up regarding the "lost decade" compilation. I was going to spend some money on this but I won't bother now. Hopefully someone will do a transfer from the master at some point. I will stick with my BTG vinyl rip for now.
Life’s what you make it
