Academy were a surprisingly little known UK band who released 6 singles between 1984 and 1986 on RCA records. It's hard to believe there was a time when a major label would release six singles and no album, but it seemed to happen all the time in the early 80's. This collection compiles all their b-sides and remixes alongside all the A-sides. Here are some of the collection's highlights.

Just recently got Stand Up! & Tonight 12" singles.

Now....I have a question regarding Stand Up! 12".....

On the b-side (the cover & the label) there is supposed to be the track "Stranded" (long version - over 8 minutes),
but on my copy - on the b-side - the actual track playing is "Paint Me Blue".

I wonder if someone else has a copy as well and could check it out if its the same there......

Whats even more interesting is that on the Tonight 12"....

....b2 track is also "Paint Me Blue" (the same version).

And the most interesting part....

On The Stranded 12" (which I dont have)

....and the Stranded (extended version) on a1 is approx. 3 minutes shorter than the long version that should be on the b-side of Stand Up! (but its not - at least not on my copy)

Anyone know the names of all the band members? Ages ago I spoke to the guitarist and he was talking about digitising their unreleased album. Would love to follow up, but unfortunately I've lost his contact details and there's nothing online. I know it was Nick Fogarty on vocals and Andy Briscoe on synth.
