it's not that rare. i have it, its just from a minor label. it usually doesn't go for much either.
but on discogs there's one copy, that some raised the price for it.

there's nothing on you can't get elsewhere.

somebody says its remastered, but it sounds the same to me.

It has the Morales mix, which isn't on the 2005 edition.

True, but the digital version has a lot more extra tracks and exclusives.

If it isn't that rare then till him where he can buy it a decent price. As for it being remastered it sounds way better than the original CD.

Maybe Edsel could do a massive ABC boxset (licenses permitting) just like they did with Heaven 17 and Dead Or Alive. It's been suggested before but to no avail . There's still stuff missing including some essential 7"/12" versions that've yet to appear on cd.

Funny enough a copy appeared on eBay today for £30. Much cheaper than Discogs but still more than I paid for my Tears For Fears box. I will think about it.

Martin Fry, just like the Pet Shop Boys, has no interest in re-releasing any of the early material,
or doing anything with it. It's been asked many times, and by different people, including myself.

They would rather concentrate on future material.

I thought the PSBs were very much involved in the reissue releases of their remastered/Furthur listening catalogue. As for ABC the decision would be perhaps the labels ultimately not Martin Fry, does he own the copyrights to all his music?

i'm not sure where i read it,

but cleopatra had a 4 track greatest hits remade in 2010 with:
the look of love (re recorded)
be near me (re recorded)
when smokey sings (re recorded)
poison arrow (re recorded)

instruments, backing, and times are all different of course.

they're on amazon, but i don't think they've shown up on cd yet.

went ahead and got these, they are different.

3:30 the look of love (re recorded)
3:51 be near me (re recorded)
4:19 when smokey sings (re recorded)
3:25 poison arrow (re recorded)

they're not better, they are just different recordings of it,
in the studio.

What is this mix? A edited version of some of the 4 parts of The Look of Love?

Probably a DMC or and old "copy and paste" crappy "Dreamtime Mix" from ten or twenty years ago. There's no official info about this mix

I found out that it's the Ultimix. Not bad for a DJ remix.

I was surprised to read the following notes on Discogs regarding the Essential compilation from 2020:

Due to mastering errors, some tracks (e.g. 1-2, 1-8, 1-11, 2-4, 2-5) begin with a bit of music from the previous track.

Tracks 2-13 and 2-14 are sourced from vinyl.
2-13 Vanity Kills (U.S.A. Remix) 5:40
2-14 How To Be A Millionaire (Bond Street Mix) 6:08

This is odd and makes me concerned the masters are no longer available. Can someone confirm if they are vinyl sourced on other releases?

Track 2-5 is the video version, an edit of the U.S.A. Remix.
2-5 Vanity Kills 3:33

Can someone tell me if this has been released previously on CD?

Those two tracks are definitely vinyl rips on The Essential ABC. I hear minor surface noise throughout, and it's plainly evident in the fadeouts. Overall it's a fairly good transfer & remaster, though. A bit brickwalled but the EQ is nice and there's no obvious distortion.

Millionaire Bond Street Mix on the original Zillionaire CDs is from the master tapes and sounds fine. I don't see why they didn't just use that.
