Help to identify - Dancing In The Street

Hoping someone can help me identify this obscure track! The voice sounds so familiar, but I can't place it!

Thank you in advanced!

This is a really great song! I wish I knew who it was. To me the vocalist sounds like Ivan Doroshuck of Men Without Hats, but it's definitely not them. I'll be trying to figure this out, in the meantime, I hope someone has the answer, because I wanna hear more from these guys. How did you come across the song? Maybe there's a clue there.

I know, eh? It does have hints of Ivan. It sort of reminds me of something Frank Tovey might have done too, sort of has a "Collapsing New People" vibe to it.

I stumbled upon this gem while surfing Mixcloud. I found it here:
https://www.mixcloud.com/mskremember/be ... er-cara-b/

It's the 2nd song in the mix, but there's no playlist and I've reached out to the author with no response.

I can see them.
I can smell them.
I can hear them.
I can feel them.
I can see them dancing in the street.

I googled the lyrics, skimmed discogs releases and scanned the Mskremember blogspot with no luck. Anybody out there able to help?? :?

Cory, did not see you're looking for this one. I think I have their 2014 CD somewhere in one of the boxes downstairs. If you don't get it by the time I find it, I'll upload it for you.

You can get the FLAC or MP3 files for $10 at CD Baby or Bandcamp. This is a new recording. The only thing that was released was a single 1985 "Never Along With You/Windows" and one song "Thunder And Lightning/Bobby and I" on Various ‎– Maskindans - Norsk Synth 1980-1988 in 2009. There are a couple of demo songs floating around.

Boxbury Beat

1. Bobby And I
2. There`s A Place
3. Searching For Silence
4. Lonely People
5. Love Shock
6. I Walked Away
7. Bittersweet
8. Windows
9. The Way It Should Be
10. Never Along With You
11. Upper Walk

Beware? If you read the history of the band, you will see that the band broke up after recording only one single, two songs. (See my above post for the original 1985 single) So no one is trying to fool anyone in thinking this is a collection of unreleased recordings from 1985. Some of the song ideas are from the past, but it is a new recording. There was never an unreleased album from 1985.

Just saying, if you were downloading the "Windows" song thinking it was the same version as the posted video, it's not.

Thanks for the info and sharing the 7" Telekon.

Yeah, the version on the CD is quite a bit different than the original 7" ... not sure I really liked it. Was hoping the CD was a remastered version of the original 7", too bad they didn't include that on the CD.
