Superb effort, eddie. Can you recommend any from 1978/1979 with excellent sound quality?

June 4, 1979
Geleen
Burgemeester Damensportpark (Pinkpop festival)
HOLLAND

01 Truth Hits Everybody
02 So Lonely
03 Fall Out
04 Born In The 50's
05 Hole In My Life
06 Message In A Bottle
07 Peanuts
08 Roxanne
**
09 Next To You
**
10 Can't Stand Losing You
11 [closing comments of DJ]

Line-up:
Sting - vocals, bass
Andy Summers - guitar
Stewart Copeland - drums

Length:
48 minutes

Lineage:
FM > Pioneer VSX-D512 receiver > PHILIPS CDR 870 (standalone CD-recorder) > CDRW > PC >
EAC 0.9 > WAV > Cool Edit Pro 2.1 > WAV > FLAC mp3

On August 26, 2005 Dutch Radio2 (as part of the program "Zomerfestival")
rebroadcasted the live recording of The Police at the Pinkpop festival 1979.

This was a MAJOR upgrade (based on sound quality) to the various recordings
I already had of this performance!

Also, this broadcast included two songs which were never broadcasted in the
past: Truth Hits Everybody and Peanuts.

This recording still misses the very first song (Can't Stand Losing You, which
was performed twice). According to the DJ (which you can hear at the end of
this recording) this first song was not recorded or is no longer in the
archives of the radio station.

So this is about the best we can get! It won't get much better than
this! This is a gem!

oooh
