REQ: Chris Mosdell - Equasian

Hello, I was wondering is anybody had the album "Equasian" by Chris Mosdell. I have been unable to find it, and it sounds like it might be an interesting album. If anybody has it, I would be grateful. Thank you.

This is just about the most unusual and original work I have heard in quite a while.

More avantgarde / experimental than anything else.
A very challenging listening experience indeed.

If someones has the two albums released under the project name Paradigm Shift (1985-1986), it would be really interesting to hear.....

Hi Xymox970,

Here is The Rain Child And The River King: http://www102.zippyshare.com/v/NwD2F1Ja/file.html

Hopefully someone else can help us to their debut album of 1985.

Finally found some time to properly listen to this album and I must admit, it was worth every minute of it.
While Equasian was more or a difficult / challenging, though quite a rewarding listening experience,
this second Paradigm Shift release is, at least, partly, ore closer to a somewhat conventional song structure,
though exquisitely done, filled with beautiful arrangements and an eye for detail. I just loved it.
Really hard to properly categorize, I think its mainly simply an electronic fusion work.
Towards the very end it even goes into prog area on one track.
Why is this classified under ambient / synth-pop on discogs in beyond me.
When I load it in my software player, I even get "jazz" under genre description and thats really funny.

Although synth-pop is my first love, as far as genres are concerned, it would almost be an insult to call this "pop-music",
but I think its amazing, never the less.

Does anyone have any idea why has this been released in Japan only ?

Thanks so much for the Chris Mosdell album. I'm assuming that this was the 2003 Japanese cd rip? Hope an expanded version of this album would appear one day.

Hi Omar, you're right.

The reason I came in contact with this album is because of the prog influence. In the early nineties, while I was writing for the Dutch magazine SI Magazine, we were with a bounce of writers into Japanese prog. Bands like Cosmic Factory, Gerard, Vienna, Pageant among others. A Japanese guy I was corresponding with and exchanging music once send me a tape which included tracks from this album besides experimental stuff of YMO and others.
