I love the way Richard Strange moved slowly towards the sound he was after in the mid 80s and with the little help from his then producer,
I think he just about perfected it on the Going Gone LP and especially the Damascus single release in 1986.

These, however, are the two singles he released prior to that under the name "The Engine Room" alone.

"Wild Times" is IMHO the superior of the two singles,
but "Your Kiss Is A Weapon" has a much better extended version.

Wild Times (12") (1984)

Your Kiss Is A Weapon (12") (1985)

Again, not the best quality rip, but I think its worth it.....

.....if anyone by any chance has the remixed version of the Damascus single from 1986....

....with the "strange dub" on the b-side, it would be lovely..... :)

I looked all over and can't find any links for their albums or singles including Richard Strange solo. Does anyone have any they can post?

Looks like a good moment to share what else I could find in my collection.......and since the rest covers the period from 1980-1983 +1986-1990,
I have taken the liberty of changing the timeline in the headline......

Going-Gone (LP) (1986)

Damascus (12") (1986)

This is, for me personally, the highlight of his career.
An amazing single.

The "strange dub" version of Damascus here is of inferior quality.....thats why I am looking for a better one.
