yes but i'm not uploading it again - everyone had their chance to join in on that thread and except one chose not to. There's no point in working to build up a collection of 15,000 + of bootlegs just to give them all away in return for nothing. The idea that people should just upload in return for nothing is grossly insulting. The whole internet file sharing thing needs re-inventing too many people are making hundreds of requests or doing hundreds of downloads on various forums or blogs and giving nothing back in return. there's a video of six songs as well from german tv which is a bit rough but it's the only video that seems to exist from round that time. Though mine is a lot better quality and a bit longer than most versions.

i'm curious... if you have so much already.

how is anybody supposed to share anything else, if you have it all, already...

i share plenty of stuff, and hardly anybody says anything..

that's why i only try to put up stuff that people request... and not just upload every single thing i have.

that works out a lot better.

because it's not about sharing it just for me is it? it's about sharing so others can benefit and be encouraged to join in. do you see any requests from me other than for more people to join in. Don't recall requesting official stuff which is what most of the uploads here are and what most of the requests are for and which i'm not willing to upload. B sides, 12 inch remixes etc etc are still official material doesn't matter whether they ever made it to cd or not. You don't seriously believe that only the person who requests something downloads it do you. You were quite happy to go and point another forum in the direction of my uploads so that was a bit handy that i'd done them without being requested wasn't it? . Your argument proves only that i want to help everyone get as much as i can by getting many more people involved and then no one is uploading every single thing they have. I couldn't care less about thanks I want everyone joining in rather than just downloading and running away. and believe me 15,000 is an understatement as that doesn't include a room full of dvds. neither here nor there to me though as i'm no longer uploading.

The thing is, not "everyone" likes live stuff - as it's rarely of good quality in every way, from performance to recording. Lots of people just don't collect live bootlegs and they have nothing to offer. So your goal is (was) simply too ambitious, unfortunately. No need to be bitter, really.

well the thousands of downloads they've had says otherwise. Though i would guess that a huge percentage of the people who've done them would download anything 'just because it's there'.

It sounds like a p2p hub would be of interest to you. I know the Echoes hub is a top one and sharing is required. I'm sure there's some private torrent trackers like that too.

yeah that's why my zippyshare files have had over 4000 downloads and i'm not the one sharing officially released material.

but luckily i've got two private forums and access to two other private blogs so what i post here is tiny bits and pieces.

so i noticed last night that the number of views on the bootlegs threads I started in the past really contradict this view howard 5600, police 7500. blondie 6500. there's only a couple of threads above or anywhere near especially when you add in a lot of others. Christ knows what would be the reaction if I actually linked to the 50 perfect sounding fm masters i've uploaded this last week. Meltdown probably.

I don't quite get you stance. So you intend on sitting on your huge pile of tapes not letting anyone have even mp3 versions of them, but using every chance you have (even creating these chances) to boast about this huge and absolutely unique and perfect sounding and mesmerising and not affordable to anyone else etc. collection of yours? What's the thing with all this? Do you want huge rewards or immence respect and adoration or what?

Gets kind of tiresome, to be honest.

i go to flip martians site :
http://www.liveandloudshows.com/

for good sounding remastered recordings, for free.

if you want the flacs, donate.

thats what people could do, put out the mp3 for free,
and if people want higher quality, donate.

i have no problems with that.

good god there's only about a million better sites than that.

But you were quick enough to go running to a human league forum with one of mine as I recall. Which eventually led to some twat on there getting them taken down.

As does the 'ooh it's thirty seconds shorter/longer/it fades in/out/remixed by a complete nobody' crap but there you go. Mine do get shared for free, flac and mp3, no thanks required, and most definitely no donations, in two very private places. So I don't quite get why your saying affordable since they cost me nothing other than a top quality cassette recorder at the time and some decent blank tapes. But thanks for your interest.

In a way I actually admire you both for being able to tolerate the casual, download anything/request everything/contribute nothing masses because I can't and if you're uploading complete bootlegs it leads to either a) being ripped off by commercial bootleggers (let's say i drop a few great recordings off on various forums and next week they are being sold on ebay doesn't it look like I'm responsible? Like the Human League compilation you put up someone chooses to photoshop some art, ebay ahoy, it looks like it could be you but it isn't. b) being ripped off to other sites where people try to make money off your recordings c) people using your recordings to get others in trade which they then don't share or d) people just spreading the recording everywhere with a-c becoming increasingly wide circles and the real fans you were trying to target simply a dot in the centre. So privacy is the answer getting people you can trust to those private places and them not abusing that trust is another matter completely.

I'll keep you all informed.

i'm perfectly happy with all the recordings i've gotten from that site.

live bootlegs have no value to me, besides listening to them.

i've only bought 2 bootleg recordings on vinyl when i didn't know any better in the 80's.

i've gotten nearly a hundred live bootlegs of simple minds, and underworld for free.

bands i like are putting out concerts in good quality, so minor bootleg concerts don't interest me.

people on the human league site wanted to know about those concerts, and since you didn't bother sharing them there,
that was the point.

have fun listening to your concerts.
