Hi all! Finally had some spare time and created another compilation (yes, I love doing them :D ). This time it's of the instrumental compositions released during the year 1980. It's a curious phenomenon that lots of NW bands and artists had at least one instrumental in their calatogue, either an album track or a B-side. Some even made a habit of doing the voxless compositions - usually for singles. And many of them are genuinely good or even great. I took some of those and created an hour-long program.

I mostly took tracks from the original vinyls or CDs i.e. not compressed ones so the sound is very pleasant (even with the very occasional vinyl crackles). Tracks are from across the NW specter, from guitar-based ones to completely synthetic. It's a good listen, very dynamic and hopefully will appeal to listeners. For better listening I made slight changes to the tracks, mainly shortening long silences and cutting out some unnecessary wankery, but nothing serious really, The last track is the unique edit from the later compilation.

Maybe if there's an interest I can do more of these for other years :)

Eddie, I haven't heard "Light Changes" yet, thanks for pointing it out to me. With this compilation I decided to go by albums, actually I have stuff for another one for 1980.

I haven't decided yet whether to do separate album instrumentals and B-side instrumentals compilations. What do you people think? :)

This isn't actually an instrumental, but has long sections in it.

It's got full vocals and chorus also.

don't forget the award winning 'D.N.A' from them.

Superb idea. I would always welcome more volumes like this. Maybe even for separate bands.
