Finally! Quality "Major Tom" 12" mixes on CD

I've picked up a handful of CD's over the years that featured the 12" Special Extended Version of Peter Schilling's "Major Tom" and they have always sounded horrible. Usually muffled and unevenly compressed with no discernible high-end frequencies like hi-hats. I had the USA 12" vinyl which I made a digital recording of about 12yrs ago and with every CD I tried, my vinyl transfer always sounded worlds better.

However, I recently stumbled upon the 2016 re-issue of "Error In The System" by Hot Shot Records:

It features not only the 8:06 12" Extended Version, but also the 4:47 Instrumental Version from the original 12" single - both remixed by John Luongo. AND after close scrutiny, both appear to be from original master tapes! Apart from a bit too much low-end in the kick drums, both tracks sound clear, crisp and clean. I re-EQ'd them to ease up on the bass a bit and now they sound exactly the way I always hoped they would.

Just thought I'd share this discovery for any who might also have been searching for better versions of these 80's new wave classic mixes.
