I haven't shared any of my "re-creations" in a while so here's one I completely forgot I did quite some time ago. It's the Video Mix of Depeche Mode's "Enjoy The Silence". To the best of my knowledge this mix has never been available in a digital format outside of their DVD compilations. But Video compilations usually have subpar audio. So I extracted the PCM Stereo audio from my "The Videos 86>98" DVD (via optical digital output), adjusted the pitch, which if I recall correctly was a bit too slow, adjusted the EQ to match the original 1990 CD releases, and segued the first 20 seconds of the DVD audio seemlessly into the Album Version (from the 1990 "Violator" CD - not the 2006 remaster). Easy peasy.

Here it is, in FLAC:

It's become somewhat of an occasional hobby for me. When I discover edits that I don't currently have in CD/Digital quality (they may be commercially released or promo-based edits, or, sometimes edits found only on vinyl) I like to see if it's something I can re-create using already available official (either commercial or promo) CD releases.

As I've just spent the past week organizing and backing up my entire Depeche Mode collection, I did some brief investigating into what songs had hard-to-find official edits made at the time of their release. I discovered several that I was either not aware of, or knew about, but did not yet have in my collection. Usually, these edits are exactly that - edits of either album versions or remixes that were generally not available commercially. In most cases, I've been able to find YouTube postings of the edits I'm looking for and can use those as templates for my re-creations. For the most part, they are easily re-created if I have the album version or full-length remixes in my collection (if it's a remix edit). Again, I've done this as a hobby for the past 15yrs and if I can toot my own horn, I've gotten pretty good at it lol. But anyone with enough patience, attention to detail, and of course editing software, can do it.

I'll probably be posting many more of my re-creations soon. I can't even list all of the tracks I've done at the moment. There have certainly been numerous discussions here in this forum that have spurred me to track down and re-create rare edits I had not previously been aware of. But there's really no rhyme or reason in regard to what edits I've re-created, in general.
