Just noticed and I'm not a member so I hope someone else can bring it to their attention as I've read many times on here how adamant they are about their information being correct

This is not Knebworth

This is Knebworth, couldn't have been broadcast week 11 June 1990 as it was three weeks before it took place.

Tears For Fears
Knebworth
30 June 1990

fm master tdk>audacity>flac

head over heels (slight dropout on original broadcast)
change
pale shelter
sowing the seeds of love
all you need is love
advice for the young at heart
i've got to sing my song (oleta adams)
badman's song
everybody wants to rule the world

perfect sound except for the technical difficulties Roland refers to.

Westwood One's issues with Tears For Fears gigs seem to have started a few years earlier.

Tears for Fears

Manchester Apollo
3 April 1985.

complete audience recording

setlist

mothers talk
broken
head over heels
pale shelter
memories fade
the prisoner
start of the breakdown
i believe
working hour
(this is where the audience tape is flipped, the flip is not kind to the recording quality)
"we're going to do a song...this is mad world" - Roland
mad world
everybody wants to rule the world
the hurting
shout
suffer the children
change

Now for the would be critics. This is Manchester 3 4 1985. The claimed
westwood one broadcast is not Manchester despite what the
announcer on it says. The spoken intro to mad world is not
only completely different it's a different person, shout is longer, vocally the end
of change is different and there is no way the comments at the
end of change could have been removed without affecting the
music but they are not present on the westwood one version. And Curt never says thank you goodnight at any point on the real audience tape.

Interesting. For clarity, Westwood One didn't do Manchester. It was DIR Radio Networks, who produced The King Biscuit Flower hour among other shows. They were Westwood Ones biggest rivals. Personally I found they sounded better than Westwood One, who often used dubbing and fake audience noise. DIR also did Toronto 85 and Bath 83.

Now to the mystery regarding the venue. This is a great discovery. Oddly enough, Wolfgang's Vault who apparently have the rights to the King Biscuit archive (they are banned from DIME for that reason) lists this show as Hammersmith Odeon.

I will ask one of my TFF friends to check it out.

I can imagine it's Hammersmith. It is really easy to put it in it's correct order, tiny cut on the end of one song is all that's needed.

no one ever says manchester on the tape but it's easy to verify Roland says 'Sorry we're late we were watching dallas in the dressing room'. Dallas was broadcast on BBC one wednesday 3 april 1985 8.10pm-9pm.
