REQ: The Bomb Party - any and all

Postby alexx » Wed Feb 20, 2019 12:08 am

Hi all. I just discovered the music of the Bomb Party (alas, only on YouTube) and I'm quite taken with their hard-edged sound. Bits of grebo, goth, and more.

Their four albums are out of print and have never been released (indeed, their 2nd album has never even been released on CD).

I don't suppose anyone has lossless rips of Drugs, Fish, Nativity #3, or Liberace Rising? I'd love to hear these records—and I'm sure others would too!

I discovered The Bomb Party when a member at the Play Dead fan site, companyofjustice.com, posted the entire Just Say Yeah (1986) compilation back on October 17, 2006. It had a lot of good artists that were similar to The Bomb Party. The MP3s were all at 128 KBPS and ripped straight from the vinyl unfortunately. Since then, I've always wanted to get higher quality versions of each song, and I already have high quality versions of the two Play Dead tracks.

1. That Kind Of Love - Crazyhead
2. Still In Chains - Play Dead
3. Redneck Greenbacks - Tea House Camp
4. Fist Fuckin' Baby - The Bomb Party
5. She Isis (mix) - The Fifteenth
6. Bigger Than God - Chatshow
7. After Suck There's Blow - Gaye Bykers On Acid
8. Talking Terror - The Hunters Club
9. Burning Down (inferior short version) - Play Dead

Both tracks by Play Dead are found on the CD version of the album "Company Of Justice" (1985).

I've never come across any albums by The Bomb Party in stores or online, but I have a digital version of a compilation called "The Last Supper" (1986). Once again, the quality isn't the greatest. The MP3s sound worse than 192 KBPS. It sounds like someone took a bunch of MP3s encoded at 128 KBPS, burned them onto a CD, then ripped it back onto their computer at 192 KBPS.
