Rather oddly, this recording has surfaced after all these years, it was originally taped by a man who sold bootleg tapes at the Barrowland market in Glasgow commonly and affectionately know as "the Barras". It's not the greatest sounding live recording in the world, but it's ok when listening through headphones. The set list is the same as most of the concerts in the Sons of Pioneers UK tour of 1982, Japan's last tour, sadly. But the tape is interesting for one it's rarity but also for the so called bonus tracks. There is a recording of a very old Japan track called Heartbreaker, which I am not sure they wrote, although it's never been officially released at any rate. David Sylvian's South London accent is all too evident when he introduces the song, as a Rolling Stones number. The other additional tracks are from concerts in 1981 and 1980, the heartbreaker one is from 1979. I need to do more investigation as to the origins of those live tracks.
If anyone is interested I will post a full track list of the cassette later today.
Incidentally, if anyone as similar Japan recordings I would interested to hear from you. I am building up an archive as the Facebook Japan forums are actively encouraging members not to post bootleg tapes etc. This is mainly due to the sensitivities of ex Japan members contributing to the pages. Which is fine but it's a fan forum not a band member forum, and it's a bit like your mother knowing what you get up to when they are not around. Naughty eh?
