Fred Taghon wrote:Thanks for the share! Somehow I never realized these "Dress You Up" and "Material Girl/Into The Groove/Angel" Japan CDs were even out there. I have the German/Europe 1995 CD reissues of "Dress You Up" and "Angel" but they both sound absolutely awful, like there's a pillow sitting on top of the speakers. The German/Europe "Who's That Girl" is the same way. So its nice to discover there ARE good sounding versions out there!
I've actually noticed a good number of German/Europe CD singles from the mid to late 80s that have inferior sound quality - mostly a very noticeable lack in high end. Prince's "Glam Slam" and Sheena Easton's "The Lover In Me" pop into mind. Which is strange because often it seems the same tracks or mixes are available from other countries with far better sound quality. Wonder why some of the German/Europe CD single mastering was so poorly done?
