The Unknown Beauty Of The 80's Vol. 140

Postby Rissan » Thu Dec 31, 2020 5:52 am

As promised the last Volume for this year. A thematic one, although the connection is rather poor. These are all artists and bands which you would find in my vinyl and CD collection and of which I am a fan.
Of the 35 artists presented here I saw 23 live at least once and several more than once excluding the lockdown concerts of Hazel O'Conner. You can say that these 35 artists formed me musically in the eighties. Although I have to admit I could have made an extra CD with bands, that influenced me the same like IQ, Flairck, Mike + The Mechanics, Steve Hackett, Clan Of Xymox, Iron Maiden, Souixsie & The Banshees, Twelfth Night, Pallas, The Mission, Sisters Of Mercy to name some. And of course I followed a lot of the German and Dutch bands that sang in native language during the 80's.

Overall you could say I was musically formed with a mix of Hard Rock, Progressive Rock and New Wave / Neue Deutsche Welle / Nederpop. From the artists and bands featured on this Volume I mainly choose for a favourite album track, a "new" remix, a live version or a favourite single. So this Volume doesn't contain Unknown tracks, but it features the beauty of my 80's. These were the bands I listened to on my bedroom, which I exchanged on cassettes with friends and later on went to visit at concerts or festivals.

The tracks:
