Req: Help with Information Society CD

Postby Fred Taghon » Sat Apr 03, 2021 9:51 am

I sold my physical copy of the Information Society "What's On Your Mind" CDS (the 5trk 1993 USA reissue) a while back. Wondering if anyone out there who has it, might share the CUE file (with PREGAP data) for it? I don't even need a full FLAC rip or anything, just the Cue. I'm backing up my lossless CD rips (complete with Log and Cue files) and somehow deleted the Cue file for that disc. Not the end of the world by any means lol, but thought I'd toss it out there! Thanks!

Heck, as long as I'm putting this request out there, I've discovered a chunk of other CD's I ripped to my external HDs that I've somehow deleted (or, more likely, never saved?) Cue files for. Also looking for these Cues, if anyone is able to help (again I'm looking for Cues with PREGAP data):

Thank you for your efforts PKPN! The link is here:

I should have foreseen this, but the Cue you provided for the "What's On Your Mind" CDS appears to be for the 1998 repress. My copy was the 1993 original pressing. I verified this with a FLAC download I found of the 1998 CD.

I can distinguish the difference between the two discs because you can check the accuracy of a rip without a Cue (using Mac's XLD ripping software) as long as you can figure out what the first PREGAP value of that disc is. This is usually super easy as it's most often zero (00:00:00) which results in the default initial pregap of 2 seconds, but it can be any value up to 00:00:74. The 1993 disc has an initial pregap of 00:00:00 but the 1998 disc has a pregap of 00:00:32.

With XLD, I was able to check the AccurateRip database after opening the downloaded files with your Cue and it worked perfectly and came back as an accurate rip for the 1998 disc. So while that provides the pregap values to that repressing, unfortunately it doesn't help with the 1993 disc.

Probably more info than anyone cares to know lol but I wanted to explain how I knew that wasn't the Cue I need.

The Cure Cue that you provided is actually for one of the pressings with "Primary (Red Mix)", not the limited edition one with "Why Can't I Be You (Extended Version)" which is the one I'm looking for.

Thank you anyway for taking the time to try and help me out! I do appreciate it!!!

Oof, sorry about my mistakes. My copy of What's On Your Mind is indeed the late '90s pressing. It has 1993 copyrights but has SID codes and a wea mfg. matrix instead of SRC. I forgot that's what I have.

I apologize for not noticing you had linked to a slightly different Cure CD, too. Dang!

It would be nice if there were a proper cue sheet archive, but people would just fill it up with fakes.
